2. Knoevenagel condensation reaction of 2-pyridone and methyl ketene to generate 2-pyridone acetone.
3. reacting 2-pyridineneacetone with imidazolidine in acetic acid to generate imidazole [1,2-a] pyridine-2-ethylamine.
4. Finally, imidazole [1,2-a] pyridine-2-ethylamine was crystallized as hydrochloric acid to obtain pure product.
